Ted Wiggans joins as Evince chair

Ted Wiggans, who was previously COO and on the board of industrial inkjet company Xaar plc, has been appointed as chair of Evince Technology with immediate effect. He takes over the role from Deborah McGargle, who has been interim chair following the death of the company’s previous chair John Urwin in August 2019.

Ted brings over 40 years’ experience in establishing and building manufacturing capabilities for the global semiconductor industry. He spent eight years leading operations at Xaar; four years with power management IC company Cambridge Semiconductor; and 13 years at Zetex Semiconductors.

Evince is very fortunate to have someone with Ted’s outstanding operational capabilities and experience join our board, particularly at this critical time. Ted will play a key role in advising and guiding the company through what is expected to be a pivotal year, both for the business and the economy, as a result of Covid-19 and the UK going into full-scale lockdown.
Gareth Taylor, CEO

“I started work with Gareth and his colleagues a few weeks ago, and it’s already apparent that I’ve joined a truly great team. I’ve seen multiple examples of everyone’s talent, dedication and commitment, despite all the new work and personal restrictions we now face,” said Ted Wiggans, chair at Evince.

In addition to chairing Evince, Ted works part-time for The University of Cambridge Judge Business School as a specialist pathway leader. He is also a trustee on the board of Campden Home Nursing, which offers a ‘hospice at home’ nursing service for people with a life-limiting illness.
